Rachel Desrouleaux is the visionary behind Tarte & Crème, a small-batch bakery where refined French technique meets the vibrant spirit of Haitian cuisine.
Her journey into the world of baking began long before the creation of the brand. For more than two decades, Rachel perfected her signature tarte à l’oignon in her home kitchen, preparing it for family gatherings, celebrations, and intimate dinners with friends. What began as a beloved family tradition gradually evolved into a craft, one rooted in patience, heritage, and a deep appreciation for beautifully prepared food.
In 2025, after an unexpected career transition, Rachel chose to transform that lifelong passion into something meaningful. From her kitchen, she founded Tarte & Crème with a clear vision: to create handcrafted tartes and pastries that embody the elegance of classic French bistro cuisine while celebrating the warmth and bold flavors of her Haitian roots.
Rachel approaches baking as both an art and a form of hospitality. Each creation is carefully prepared using premium ingredients, traditional techniques, and a thoughtful, modern touch. Her philosophy is simple yet uncompromising quality over quantity, craftsmanship over convenience.
